Sleep Inn Tinley Park I-80 near Amphitheatre-Convention Center

Noisy, going downhill. This is the second time I've stayed here in the last year. First time (late 2022) would've been 4 stars. This is only 2 stars because I feel generous. First problem: It's loud. L-O-U-D. The heating/AC units appear to be 1970s vintage, which means they're as loud as 1950s nuclear tests. The "off" button literally does nothing, you have to unplug it. If that's not bad enough, there's night construction on the freeway; you might as well save $92/night and sleep under a bridge, for all the quiet you're going to get. You won't get to sleep before 5 AM here, and they refuse to do late check-out, even though it's an advertised service. Second problem: There's no water pressure and the water is literally never hot. When I stayed here in 2022 the water was fine. This time I might as well have showered with a lukewarm squirt gun. Third problem: Breakfast is literally inedible. This hasn't changed since my last stay, but it's so comically bad that it's worth mentioning. You know those soft plastic "food" toys, like rubber steaks, that children sometimes like? It looks like those, but I remember the toys tasting better.

Very clean hotel with good prices, helpful staff. The rooms are clean and modern. Unfortunately the hotel is noisy and has thin walls. We could hear the couple next to us talking and watching tv. If you are a light sleeper may not be the best choice for that reason. Breakfast choice not as large as other choice hotels but still decent.

I arrived late evening (11/23/2023) and was helped by one of the owners/relatives. His service was decent. The hotels outside and inside appearance is nice and clean. I found my room to be nice and clean. *Again, carpeted floor is a DNA depository and moisture retainer… not a good thing if you like going barefoot. My evening would have been perfect had it not been for an overweight Fred Astaire practicing a routine all night or perhaps the person was trying out a new set of concrete sandals. I was too tired to complain. I had ripped off all of my clothes and become settled with my meal. After a 15 hour drive, I was too tired to deal with the situation. In the morning, I was awakened to the Stomper. I went on with my morning and when checking out I had the morning desk clerk know. I felt they were genuinely apologetic about the situation. The breakfast was the typical Sleep Inn/Comfort Inn/Comfort Suites variety. I had no complaints. I wasn’t fond of the immediate areas choices of food and restaurants but I knew what I was getting into. I used my map while reading reviews on hotels, so I knew that the food locations might not be ideal. The location had the best results considering freeway access, reviews, price and food access. I chose this location even though I needed to be as close as possible to our office in Alsip. Nothing good in Alsip, unless you want to sleep with one eye open or like hearing the local neighborhood talent visiting rooms at untimely hours. The morning staff (two ladies) were awesome and the overall stay was only hampered by the Foot Stomper. If you’re like me… bring your own programmable remote control. The ones these hotels use are annoying and problematic.

The mattress was very comfortable and the sheets were the softest sheets I've slept on in a hotel. All the exterior doors were not working properly, you could exit the doors but if you wanted to get back in the card reader wouldn't open the doors so you would have to walk around to the front main entrance it didn't matter what time of day or night...
